Joe Johnson – Obi-Wan Kenobi

Just as Luke Skywalker was surprised to find out that Old Ben Kenobi roaming alone in the Dune Sea of Tatooine was actually Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, it was quite a surprise when the legendary veteran and seven-time All-Star Joe Johnson decided to join the ranks of the Utah Jazz. However, just like Kenobi followed Princess Leia’s call for aid, Johnson also heeded the cry of distress from Dennis Lindsey to join the then rag-tag rebellion that was much in need of his services.

But when he left behind Goran Dragic and the other sand people of Miami to head to the colder climate of Utah, he unfortunately found it in a similar state as Obi-Wan found Alderaan, decimated by the Death Star…er…rather injuries as none of Derrick Favors, George Hill and others could remain healthy.

But beyond all that, old man Joe Johnson is just as wise and cunning as Obi-Wan in the original trilogies. He serves as the savvy veteran that saves the team in its moments of most dire need, even if it means getting struck down by Darth Vader…or…you know, sitting out for six weeks with a wrist injury.

And let’s face it, Obi-Wan and Joe Johnson are both just straight up studs. In the fight against the Dark Side, both are extremely critical in their team’s success despite their advanced years, which is better referred to as valuable experience.
