Thabo Sefolosha – R2-D2

When Thabo Sefolosha came over to the Utah Jazz, many were excited about the defensive prowess he would bring, but several of that group were convinced that he was a one-trick pony – an elite defender and little more. However, Thabo has been absolutely spectacular for the Jazz on both ends of the floor as he’s added not only defense, but three-point shooting, energy, steals, good passing and everything you could ask for.

It turns out that Thabo can do a little bit of everything.

That’s quite similar to Star Wars hero R2-D2. He may be viewed by some as capable of only your basic Astro Droid duties, but the eccentric Artoo actually excels in all manner of areas. I mean, who would have predicted that the little guy would have been capable of wiping out two Super Battle Droids with oil and his booster rockets?

Yet, time and time again this season, Thabo-D2 has stunned opponents with his own version of oil and booster rockets by suffocating opponents on defense and punishing them on offense. Not only that, but he’s had great chemistry with rookie Donovan Mitchell, which is quite fitting given that Luke and R2-D2 are quite possibly the greatest Star Wars team in the galaxy.
