7) Minnesota Timberwolves (3-3)

Last month: 5

On the one hand, the Minnesota Timberwolves picked up two wins over the Oklahoma City Thunder in dramatic fashion. On the other, they’re a few ball bounces against the Jazz from being under .500 on the year.

The T-Wolves are also posting one of the worst net ratings in the NBA at minus-7.8. The reason being: defense; Tom Thibodeau’s schemes notwithstanding, Minnesota has allowed more than 114 points/poss. this season.

Nevertheless, Karl-Anthony Towns is playing MVP-level ball, putting up nearly 25 points, just over 11 boards and 1.8 blocks per game.
