Key #1 – Don’t Take the Suns for Granted

Although there are certainly good teams and bad teams in the NBA, the fact of the matter is that every single squad is full of professionals. Thus, even though one would suppose that the Jazz should be able to overpower the Suns, it’s unwise to take anything for granted. The Jazz need to come out with energy and be as well-prepared as they would against any team in the league.

Even though the Suns have struggled mightily this season, they did display some redeemable qualities in their win over the Kings as they shot 54.5 percent from the field and dominated Sacramento on the boards. Sure, the Kings aren’t exactly a powerhouse themselves, but the fact remains that the Suns looked much improved and the Jazz will need to be ready for them to come out with a different energy than in their three consecutive losses to start the year.

Upsets typically occur in the NBA when the better team gets complacent against its inferior opponent and that truly would be the biggest mistake Utah could make tonight. Even though the Suns are essentially a sure-fire lottery team, they still have guys that can fill it up and get hot, so if Utah isn’t careful, they could find themselves in for an unfortunate surprise.
