Utah Jazz: Joel Bolomboy vs. Royce O’Neale for final roster spot
By John Keeffer
Prediction: Bolomboy survives the cut
As much as I would love to see the undrafted player find a way to make this team, overall talent is going to win out here. Joel Bolomboy just has too much potential as an athletic stretch four in this league.
To this point in the preseason, Bolomboy has done nothing to loosen his grasp on the 15th and final spot on the roster. That isn’t to say O’Neale has played poorly, but he hasn’t done anything to stand out either. So unless the Jazz value the positional depth he’ll bring over the talent of Bolomboy, I have to imagine the edge goes to Bolomboy.
Next: Utah Jazz: Taylor Braun is team’s first preseason cut
It’s a shame their aren’t two roster spots available, because both players are playing their hearts out and deserve to be on an NBA roster. I would love to see both in a Jazz uniform, but since there can only be one, the nod goes to Joel Bolomboy halfway through the preseason.
