NBA basketball is back! After quite possibly the most entertaining offseason in the history of the league, the 2017-18 season is ready to tip-off. For fans in Salt Lake City, this will give us a chance to see if the changes during the offseason will still leave the Utah Jazz as a playoff team and a top-tier squad in the Western Conference.

This is still the preseason, though, so what you are watching needs to be taken with a grain of salt. It’s basic offensive sets, and the main players don’t go all-out because of risk of injury prior to the actual season. There will also be 20 players on the roster. In order to give the lower level players a fair shot, major minutes will be given out to players who will either be playing minor roles for the Jazz, or won’t even make the team.

With that in mind, this is still Utah Jazz basketball, and there’s always the chance to see something amazing. One of the greatest basketball sequences I’ve ever seen came in a preseason game.

So while the level of play may leave more to be desired during the preseason, there is still plenty to watch for. When watching the Jazz, I am going to be looking to answer three main questions this preseason.
