As part of the renovations to Vivint Smart Home Arena and to kick off a new season, the Utah Jazz team store will hold a grand opening event on Monday prior to Utah’s first preseason game.

After an exciting scrimmage held at Hill Air Force Base on Friday, Utah Jazz basketball is getting closer to making its 2017-18 return than ever! In fact, the Jazz will hit the hardwood for preseason action on Monday as they’ll take on the Sydney Kings out of Australia.

However, if you thought that the preseason battle against the Aussie squad was the only thing to look forward to on Monday, you were critically mistaken. The Utah Jazz announced this week that earlier on the day of the scrimmage, they will also hold the grand opening of the brand new team store within the recently renovated Vivint Smart Home Arena.

The home of the Utah Jazz underwent some drastic changes and impressive enhancements this offseason and the new team store was certainly a major part of those upgrades. Not only that, but with the entire league making a switch over to Nike rather than Adidas, there will be plenty of new merchandise and swag available at Utah’s new store.

According to the release on the Utah Jazz website, the grand opening event will take place on Monday, October 2 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm and will include several fun items such as Rudy Gobert revealing a life-size mannequin of himself, free t-shirts for the first 150 fans in attendance, 300 pairs of free preseason tickets and, of course, the opportunity to purchase the new Nike jerseys.

With an exciting year ahead, a new-look team both in terms of players and uniforms and what’s bound to be a cool grand opening event, this most definitely will be an afternoon that die-hard Jazz fans won’t want to miss. Not only that, but getting a first glimpse of the new team store in action will be an impressive experience in and of itself. The official release from UtahJazz.com announcing the grand opening event had the following to say about the new store:

"The Utah Jazz Team Store on Level 3 boasts 3,200 square feet of retail space and will include the life-size Gobert rendering, a New Era hat wall, and a rotating floor display highlighting Jazz players’ game-worn shoes. The team store will have exclusive merchandise for fans to purchase, including on-court gear, game-worn apparel and Jazz memorabilia. Fans who purchase a Jazz jersey will have the opportunity to support cancer research and add the new 5 For The Fight patch for a $5 donation. The Level 5 store will have 1,500 square feet of space that has the look of an old-school basketball gym. The store will carry current Jazz fan gear along with some retro and throwback apparel."

I know that I, for one, can’t wait to see this new store in person and get my hands on the latest Jazz memorabilia.
