2) Jazz Trio Leads West to the Win, Malone Wins MVP: February 12, 1989

If 1984 was the year the Jazz emerged from the cellar with their first playoff appearance, 1988 was the year they became a force to be reckoned with in the West. So when February rolled around the following year, the team was recognized with three All-Star selections.

Karl Malone, John Stockton, and Mark Eaton all donned white jerseys for the West that year. Their combined efforts would lead the team to a 143-134 win over the East despite 28 points from Michael Jordan.

Stockton did his thing in the game, finishing with 11 points and 17 assists (many of which went to Malone), while Eaton blocked a couple of shots in limited action. However, it was the Mailman who shined brightest on that day, scoring 28 points, grabbing nine rebounds, and collecting his first All-Star MVP trophy.
