#3. Thursday Night Primetime Delight

Thursday, December 21 – San Antonio Spurs at Utah Jazz

The Utah Jazz aren’t exactly known for being frequently touted on national TV. In fact, they’ll appear in such games six times less than last season. However, they will have the opportunity to play on Thursday night TNT action on two occasions – December 7th against the Houston Rockets and two weeks later on December 21st against the San Antonio Spurs.

While both could be epic battles against two teams that hope to be able to unseat the Warriors this season, San Antonio’s first visit to Utah ought to be the most exciting of the two. In the first contest against the Spurs last season, the Jazz surprised them on the road and it will be intriguing to see if Utah can repeat that occurrence in their first match-up this upcoming season.

Not to mention, it’s always a treat to get to play on national TV against a solid opponent and getting to hear what the national commentators (who aren’t exactly always up to speed on the Jazz) have to say can be an entertaining experience. Especially if the Jazz arise victorious, a nationally televised win is a treat like few others.

I know I’ll never forget this Jazz victory over the Spurs that was nationally televised on ESPN back in 2012:

If we’re lucky, the Jazz will treat us to a similarly spectacular win over the Spurs once again in 2017-18.
