Wesley Matthews
Although he hasn’t quite been the same since going down with an Achilles injury in his final year with the Portland Trail Blazers, Wesley Matthews is still a tough 3-and-D type player who can make an impact for any team in the league. As an undrafted rookie playing for the Jazz, he quickly became a fan favorite as he blossomed into one of Utah’s most reliable three-point shooters that year.
Although the Jazz did well to add Thabo Sefolosha in free agency this summer to help fill the small forward void left by Gordon Hayward, a guy like Wesley Matthews could be a nice addition to bring in a player of that position who’s a little bit better scorer. Matthews has averaged double figures in every season since leaving the Jazz and despite taking a dip with the Dallas Mavericks, his three-point shooting has lingered right around 39 percent for much of his career.
