The free agency period started off with a bang yesterday and several offseason moves and reports have major implications for the Utah Jazz.

Long before the clock struck midnight on the eve of NBA free agency, a lot of news had already surfaced and the pandemonium continued well into the night. One of the craziest times of the year is certainly upon us and there was no shortage of blockbuster moves, exciting reports and potentially impactful rumors.

The Utah Jazz got in on the action by trading a first-round pick for former Minnesota Timberwolves guard Ricky Rubio, but although that was a direct move by the Jazz, it was far from the only thing that happened that impacted the organization. I’d be hard-pressed to touch on every bit of news that surfaced yesterday so unfortunately this won’t be a full list, but the following is a summary of the major events that took place on Friday and how they impact the Jazz.

I’m certain that perhaps even as I write this piece, more news could surface and that the coming days are bound to be full of excitement as teams vie for the best players in the league and seek to make improvements that will allow them to contend for a championship. It also seems clear at this point that we could be looking at a very different and revamped Jazz team next year.
