CLEVELAND, OH – APRIL 7: Ersan Ilyasova

Ersan Ilyasova

If you’re a longtime hoops junkie living in Jazzland, Ersan Ilyasova has probably been on your radar for a while.

The reasons to like him are many. He’s got great size/length for a power forward at 6-foot-10 with a 7-foot-1 wingpsan. His basketball IQ is high on both sides of the ball; Ilyasova will make plays in a myriad of ways and hit the three offensively, while overcoming his athletic shortfall defensively by drawing charges.

He would be a great fit for the brand of basketball the Jazz want to play. Especially in Coach Snyder’s offense, which relies heavily on spacing the floor, ball movement and making reads.

Although he played for three different teams last season, he still had a strong year, averaging 13 points and six rebounds per contest while hitting 35 percent of his attempts from behind the arc.

He could probably be had without totally killing yourself financially and would combine with Gobert to make a solid inside-out tandem in the Jazz frontcourt.
