Kelly Olynyk

Kelly Olynyk has been pretty high on my list (and probably Dennis Lindsey’s as well) for some time. When he worked out for Utah back in 2013, the team had him do the Jazz 100 drill that’s usually reserved for guards and wing players and he totally rocked it. Shooting 10 threes from 10 different locations, Olynyk made more than 60 percent of his shots.

It was clearly a sign of things to come. The seven-foot, 240-pound big man has made 254 three-point shots in his young career and is hitting them at a 37-percent rate. He’s also got a bit of a mean streak on the floor, which is something the Jazz could use more of.

This past season, he averaged nine points and five rebounds per game, but he’s definitely capable of more. In Boston’s Game 7 win over the Washington Wizards in the second round of this year’s playoffs, he scored 26 points on 10-of-14 shooting to help secure the victory and the series.

He’s a restricted free agent, but the Celtics will likely let him walk as they work to bring in Gordon Hayward, Paul George and the like.
