Boris Diaw

Nicknames – Tea Time, Dora the Explorer

Honestly, Boris Diaw is quite the character and in need of a legitimate on-court nickname befitting his sleek passing, crafty veteran savvy and of course his impossible to miss dad bod. I honestly think we should start opening this one up to suggestions until we find the perfect nickname for Boris.

However, two little known nicknames came from former teammates of Diaw. Last season, LaMarcus Aldridge dubbed him “Tea Time” for how “casually easy he can make the game look at times” according to Sports Illustrated. It’s well documented that Diaw has an extreme love for coffee, so maybe that figures into the “Tea Time” name as well.

Manu Ginobili had an even better nickname for his well-traveled former teammate as he once referred to him as Dora the Explorer for all the photos he takes during his frequent adventures. I have a hard time seeing that one sticking with him on the court, but you have to admit it’s pretty funny and in some ways very fitting.
