3/3 Utah vs. Brooklyn

7:00 pm MT – Root Sports/League Pass

Opponent record: 9-49

Season series: Jazz lead 1-0

It has been an absolutely hapless season for the Brooklyn Nets as they have yet to post double figures in the win column and no team in the league has more wins than the Nets have losses (the Warriors are tied with 49 wins on the season). Simply put, this team is horrible.

And the Jazz certainly made them look as much in the two teams’ first meeting in Brooklyn as Utah used an impressive fourth quarter to roll to a comfortable 101-89 win despite missing George Hill.

Perhaps the most pleasant surprise for the Nets has been the play of Sean Kilpatrick who’s averaging a solid 13.3 points in 25.9 minutes of play.

However, it seems things continue to go downhill for Brooklyn as, despite making a few moves such as shipping Bojan Bogdanovic to the Wizards, they weren’t able to come to any agreements at the trade deadline for Brook Lopez who they were reportedly shopping in an attempt to get some pieces to help them build for the future.

Given the dismal current state of the Nets, I’d say it’s a pretty safe bet that the Jazz will have little problem dispatching them once again, especially in Salt Lake City. It’s hard for any team to come in and beat Utah on their home floor, but given that Brooklyn is just 2-25 on the road, I’d say for them it’d take nothing short of a miracle.

My Prediction: Jazz Win

Final Score: Utah 110, Brooklyn 93
