Charlotte Hornets – Ramon Sessions

The Hornets aren’t exactly stacked with players that would be a great fit for the Jazz, but if Utah wants to add some more depth to the point guard position, Ramon Sessions could potentially work. He’s also a player who has appeared in trade rumors a number of times, so his availability isn’t much in question.

Unfortunately Sessions is currently injured and it may be hard to build real cohesion with him between the time he gets back from knee surgery and the start of the playoffs, so his acquisition would likely need to be a move for long term depth. And if that’s the case, Utah may very well be able to find someone better across the league than Sessions.

Still, Sessions has been a capable backup everywhere he’s been, adding quickness and a scoring punch off the bench. He’s not necessarily an electric shooter, but last season he did shoot 47.3 percent from the field in 20 minutes of play as a backup to John Wall, so he’s certainly capable of making an impact.

If Utah hopes to simply fill the backup point guard spot with a capable veteran with plenty of experience running the point but that would serve as only a temporary improvement while Dante Exum continues to get better, Sessions is definitely worthy of consideration.

Marco Belinelli is another Hornets player reported available that Utah could consider. He’s a phenomenal shooter but seems a bit redundant with Joe Ingles in terms of what he would bring to the table.
