Sacramento Kings – Darren Collison

If you’ve read a couple of my recent posts about filling Utah’s backup point guard position, you know that I’m quite high on the idea of adding Darren Collison. Though the Kings are adamant that they won’t trade DeMarcus Cousins, it seems like most of the rest of the team is quite expendable as Sacramento desperately looks for any move that will bring them some hope for success.

Collison is ripping the net from three this year at 42.1 percent while also shooting very well from the field at 48.1 percent. He’s played both a starting and reserve role throughout his career and should have no problem coming off the bench behind Hill and running an efficient second unit.

Collison’s experience running the point would be an enormous upgrade to the carousel Utah has had at that position in the second unit and as a guy who’s played whatever role has been asked of him with each team during his career, he would be a great fit chemistry-wise with the Jazz as well.

Ben McLemore is another sharpshooting guard that the Kings are reportedly open to trading, so adding him as depth could potentially be beneficial as well.

Honorable Mention – Ben McLemore
