Los Angeles Lakers – Lou Williams

Again, this was a trade scenario that I explored previously, but I must admit it wasn’t one that I was very confident would be much of a possibility. Recent reports, however, have indicated that the Lakers are indeed open to moving their leading scorer Lou Williams.

Williams has thrived off the bench for the Lakers where he’s averaged 18.6 points per game on 44.4 percent shooting from the field and 38.5 percent from deep. When he is on, he can score in bunches and is a phenomenal guy to have playing in the reserve unit.

Williams is a combo guard capable of playing the one or the two so he could very well help shore up a couple of weaknesses for the Jazz by adding depth at both positions. He’s also on an extremely friendly contract which would make him even more desirable for Utah.

Although it’s hard to know how high of a price LA is asking for Williams, this is a move that I would absolutely love to see Utah pursue. Williams’ scoring ability could work wonders for the Jazz bench and help them avoid the offensive stagnation that at times has been so prevalent.

To be perfectly honest, there isn’t much that’s available in LA beyond Williams that I would be that interested in for the Jazz given that most of the Lakers’ high-potential young guys are untouchable. One player that may be on the move while his recent solid play has elevated his stock is Ivica Zubac.

He’s put up a number of double-figure games in recent contests and could be an intriguing prospect to add some depth to Utah’s frontcourt.

Honorable Mention – Ivica Zubac
