Wilson Chandler

The Denver Nuggets have been one of the most impressive surprises this season as the young squad finds themselves firmly in eighth place in the West and coming off an incredible win over the Golden State Warriors in their most recent contest.

Denver’s success has come thanks to several players stepping up. Without a doubt the most impressive has been the young big man Nikola Jokic, but several others have answered the call as well.

One of those players has been Wilson Chandler who is currently the Nuggets’ third leading scorer at 15.6 points per game while shooting a solid 45.4 percent from the floor. In a lot of ways, Chandler has been a key contributor to Denver’s success.

However, according to multiple sources, Chandler is unhappy in his so-called “inconsistent role” that has seen him mainly come off the bench for the Nuggets and as such he has requested a trade.

There’s no questioning that Chandler is a starting-level talent and that he is having a phenomenal season, but this kind of an attitude is an absolute red flag. The Jazz have found success by buying into the mantra that every player should fill their role and do what is required of them each and every night regardless of whether much or little is asked of them.

Therefore, Chandler’s desire for a bigger role likely wouldn’t fly in Utah. Especially considering that he would largely be playing the same position as Gordon Hayward and Joe Johnson, he would probably find himself buried in the rotation, meaning he simply isn’t a logical fit.
