Jimmy Butler

It’s quite possible that Jimmy Butler isn’t actually on the trading block, but his name is one that has appeared in several rumors in recent weeks. He has proven to be one of the best two-way players in the league and is having a phenomenal season putting up 24.5 points, 6.4 rebounds and 4.8 assists.

To be quite honest, I have a hard time believing the Bulls would deal their best player unless they were committed to going into full rebuild mode. And even if they were, it still seems unlikely that the Jazz would have enough to offer to get Chicago to bite.

Still, the shooting guard spot has been a big issue for the Jazz as a combination of injuries and overwhelming inconsistency have plagued Alec Burks and Rodney Hood all season.

Imagine instead All-Star Jimmy Butler playing alongside Gordon Hayward on offense while taking control on defense by covering opposing teams’ best players night in and night out. Sure, it’s a long shot, but it still would be a magnificent sight to behold.

So if there’s any chance of the Jazz intriguing the Bulls into dealing their formidable guard to them, Utah should be willing to give up quite a bit in order to get him.

Verdict: Green Light
