Coming off their third straight loss, it’s looking more and more like the Utah Jazz ought to check the trade market for a potential good fit.

To most people, February is known largely for outstanding special events such as the Super Bowl, Valentine’s Day and President’s Day, as well as being the shortest month of the year. However, for die-hard NBA fans, February holds a much deeper significance beyond any of those things.

It’s known as the month of NBA trade season.

As some teams look to add whatever talent they can to make a playoff push, others attempt to unload a bad fit and many struggling squads seek to lower their payroll and build for the future, it seems like there is a never-ending supply of rumors, speculation and often times wishful thinking regarding teams and their projected trade moves.

Of course this year is no different as trade rumors are steadily beginning to pick up as we close in on the February 23rd deadline that is now less than ten days away. Several players have had their names floated around as likely to be dealt and in many of their cases it would appear that a move could be made sooner rather than later.

It obviously has yet to be seen whether or not the Jazz will be one of those teams that makes a move before the deadline, but with three straight embarrassing losses and no wins over Western Conference teams with a winning record in almost two months, it’s quite clear that they could use some help.

So while many of the rumors floating around could very well be nothing more than that, I figured I’d play GM for a moment and scope out the rest of the league to see which players on the trading block could potentially be a fit in Utah to help them make a push to close out the year and head into the playoffs.

While there’s several players who could potentially be available, I’ve decided to focus on a select few that I believe are among the most likely to be dealt. I’ll be ranking each one as a green light, yellow light or red light depending on how proactive or hesitant Jazz brass should be when deciding whether to pursue them or avoid them.
