Joe Johnson

In terms of sheer name value, Joe Johnson was the acquisition of the offseason for the Jazz by a college mile. After all, he’s a seven-time All-Star with a wealth of playoff experience and a unique offensive skillset worthy of his Iso Joe moniker.

Now, at 35, he’s a bench guy and a stabilizing presence for a Jazz locker room that still has more than its fair share of young players. In that function, Johnson has performed exquisitely.

He hasn’t set the world on fire since a 12-of-16, 29-point outburst on opening night in Portland, but he’s been pretty solid throughout the season. Most recently against the Phoenix Suns when he scored 15 points and hit the game-winning three-pointer. On the year, he’s averaging 8.3 points and three rebounds per game, while shooting nearly 40 percent from behind the arc.

More importantly, he’s in a good spot to really help the Jazz during the playoff race, just as he did with the Miami Heat last season.
