Joel Bolomboy

Joel Bolomboy’s rookie year with the Jazz is a tough egg to crack. Per 36 minutes, he’s averaging 14.4 points, 18.0 rebounds, 1.8 blocks and 1.8 steals per game. That’s great, but when he’s been on the main roster, he’s been a garbage-time guy who has yet to even play 36 combined minutes on the season.

Mostly, he’s spent the year shuttling back and forth between the Jazz and the D-League’s Salt Lake City Stars. He’s already racked up 10 D-League assignments (and a ton of fuel points) on the year.

That said, he’s kind of crushing it in the D-League. His averages with the Stars have been really good;15.8 points, 13.6 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game. He’s also shooting 54 percent from the field and 46 percent from three-point range.

Given his status as a player drafted in the 50s, you can’t really knock anything Bolomboy has done. He’s keeping his head down, working on his game and playing well where he’s at. That’s really all you can ask of him.
