Utah Jazz Week Two Outlook, Predictions
After starting the first week of the 2016-17 season at 1-2, the Utah Jazz will be hard-pressed to climb above .500 with a challenging week two ahead.
Well, as I feared would be the case, I got a little too optimistic in my first week’s outlook and predictions for the Utah Jazz who now currently sit at 1-2 on the year.
While I correctly picked the winners of the Blazers and Lakers games, I was overconfident in Utah’s chances against the Clippers as my risky guess of a three-point win actually turned out to be a 13-point loss. Ouch.
Thus, If we’re keeping track of my record of picking the winning team correctly, I currently sit a full game ahead of the Jazz at 2-1.
And if I hope to improve on that prediction mark, considering that the Jazz looked pretty pathetic in the loss to the Clippers and didn’t record the blowout win that I had expected against the Lakers, I’ll likely have to temper my expectations quite a bit this week.
Especially considering two of Utah’s four contests during their second week of NBA action are against the San Antonio Spurs, even finishing .500 for the week would be impressive.
While it’s certainly possible that the Jazz do so, it’s going to be pretty tough. Along with playing the Spurs on the road on Tuesday and at home on Friday, Utah will take on the Mavericks at home on the second night of a back-to-back on Wednesday and will finish the week out on Sunday in New York for a 10:00 AM MT game that will kick off a challenging five-game road trip.
So with a tough seven-day stretch ahead, without further ado, here’s my predictions for the Jazz’s second week of regular season action.
