New Orleans Pelicans: #Pelicans
Well…at least this one’s easy to remember. But that’s about it. Like the Celtics, the Pelicans get no points for creativity on this one. And even though the Pelicans have been named such for a few years now, it still sounds weird. Since I like birds, I’ll throw a “plus” in front of their grade just for the logo emoji.

New York Knicks: #Knicks
Come on, Knicks, you’re a self-declared super team! Couldn’t you have done better than this? The other two super teams on the list, the Cavs and Warriors, both got A’s. Does this make you a fraud? In short, this hashtag is boring, and I like birds a lot more than pants rolled up just below the knee.

Oklahoma City Thunder: #ThunderUp
I really want to like this one. I really do. But for some reason it just doesn’t get me excited. Personally I like #LoudCity a lot better. There’s really nothing wrong with the hashtag or the logo, though, so since I have no solid reasons to back up why I’m not a fan of this, I suppose I’ll show them a little love.

Orlando Magic: #LetsGoMagic
This one seems like it was selected by a squad of high school cheerleaders. Much like the Pistons and Rockets, I feel like there’s so much more that could have been done with such a unique team name. This hashtag/emoji combo really doesn’t offer much to write home about.

For the city. By the city. #MADEinPHILAhttps://t.co/dIdiR5IMv3

Philadelphia 76ers: #MADEinPHILA
I get that the Sixers probably had a hard time finding anything positive on their team to incorporate into their hashtag. At least the Bucks could rely on the future, but it’s unclear what the Sixers have to look forward to. Maybe #BetterThantheNets(Maybe) would have been a more fitting hashtag. But all things considered, I like that they’ve given the city some love in their hashtag, especially considering the horrible basketball they’ve been forced to watch for almost half a decade.

Phoenix Suns: #WeArePHX
Eh, the PHX abbreviation is kind of cool and I have nothing against the Suns logo/emoji, but that’s about where the fun stops. This one is simply mediocre, no more, no less.

Portland Trail Blazers: #RipCity
I don’t know why I’m so high on the hashtags that incorporate the word “City” into them (see Charlotte and Memphis) but for some reason I think it’s catchy. Maybe it’s the new cool thing like “nation” used to be, or maybe I’m just nuts, you decide. Anyway, Rip City has become a cool nickname for Portland and a fitting hashtag. The only reason they don’t get full marks is because I’ve never been a huge fan of their logo which of course is also their emoji.
