8. Jonathon Simmons – San Antonio Spurs

Drafted: Undrafted in 2012 Draft

Last season stats: 6.0 points, 1.7 rebounds, 1.1 assists per game on 50% shooting and 38% shooting from three-point range for the Spurs

Jonathon Simmons had a very productive rookie season for Gregg Popovich this past year. Although he was a rookie, Simmons entered the draft back in 2012 when he went undrafted.

Last season Simmons played on the Spurs summer league team both in Utah and in Las Vegas. The Spurs went on to win the Summer League championship and Simmons was named the championship game MVP. He scored 23 points to go along with three rebounds and three assists in the championship game.

While Simmons is pretty low on the depth chart, Popovich is known to use his whole roster. Simmons played in 55 games last season and it’s possible that he will play in as many if not more this upcoming season.
