10 Players to Watch at Utah Jazz Summer League
1. Ben Simmons – Philadelphia 76ers
Drafted: 1st pick in 2016 Draft
Last season stats: 19.2 points, 11.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 2.0 steals per game on 56% shooting at Louisiana State University
Who else would be number one? Who would you be more excited to see than the guy that has already drawn comparisons to Magic Johnson and LeBron James? Simmons is a point forward who has showcased phenomenal court vision and play making ability from someone who’s 6’10” with a seven-foot wingspan.
The knock on Simmons’ game is that he doesn’t shoot well from outside of the paint. He only made one three-pointer last year, but he only attempted three shots from downtown. Many have suggested that Simmons is afraid to take outside shots. Look for Simmons to be aggressive and take a fair amount of jump shots this week.
Next: Utah Jazz: Thanks for Everything, Trevor Booker
The kid is talented and is going to have a great career. Many have already said that he has made all the years that Philadelphia has tanked worth it and he hasn’t even played in a game yet. Simmons will look to make the 76ers contenders again and his career will start right here at the Utah Jazz Summer League.
