Arron Afflalo

2015-2016 stats: 12.8 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 2.0 apg, .443 fg%, .382 3p%, 10.98 PER

It’s pretty obvious that the Arron Afflalo/Knicks marriage didn’t have the Hollywood romance many had hoped for. He didn’t  finish the year on a high note and was benched for multiple games, but that’s not to say that Afflalo is done.

Remember, it wasn’t that long ago that some were arguing that he deserved to be an All-Star. Though it seems a change of scenery is necessary for Afflalo to regain his mojo.

At 30-years old, Afflalo has been there before. He’s been in the league for a decade and has played in plenty of big games. That’s the type of veteran the Jazz could really use.

Afflalo has both a seasoned and polished offensive game. For a career, he shoots roughly 40 percent from behind the three-point line. In fact, 37 percent of his career 11.6 ppg come from three. He has also shown abilities as a playmaker and a slasher — both could work well in Quin Snyder’s offense.

On the other side of the ball, Afflalo has earned the reputation of being a lockdown defender and has earned votes for several All-NBA Defensive Teams. He can comfortably guard three positions and would add yet another defensive presence for other teams to worry about.

If the Jazz were to sign Afflalo, they’d be adding a versatile player who can fit a myriad of roles. If the Jazz need scoring, Afflalo can get buckets. If the Jazz need defense, Afflalo can lock down.

That’s a skill set the Jazz should be seriously contemplate acquiring.
