Utah Jazz free agency is upon us, and it’s no secret that the Utah Jazz need help. This includes the shooting guard position. Is there a solution on the open market?

Heading into the 2016-2017 season, the Utah Jazz’s shooting guard position is a bit of a question mark. While Rodney Hood emerged as a legitimate talent who can score in bunches, the exact opposite can be said about the rest of the depth chart.

Alec Burks seems to have all the makings of an electrifying rotational player, but after missing over 100 games in the past two seasons, there are plenty of well-founded questions surrounding his health and durability.

Chris Johnson is all heart and hustle. It’s too bad there’s not a whole lot of game left after that.

So this leaves the Jazz in a precarious position. Do they go all in with Alec Burks as their sixth man despite his back-to-back injury-plagued seasons? Can they afford another season of relying on Chris Johnson to play anything other than garbage time minutes? Or do they test the free agent waters and see if they can add depth that way?

I vote for the latter.

Luckily, there’s no shortage of shooting guard talent in this year’s free agency pool. This gives Jazz GM Dennis Lindsey plenty of options to choose from. None of which are superstars; all of which are worth taking a look at to shore up a bench unit that had its fair share of problems.

Here are five potential free agent targets at the shooting guard position.
