2010-2016

Record: 221-255 (.464)

Key Players: Paul Millsap, Al Jefferson, Gordon Hayward, Derrick Favors

The 2010-2011 season brought a lot of change to the franchise. The legendary Jerry Sloan stepped down as head coach after 22 years. Two weeks later the Jazz traded Deron Williams to the then New Jersey Nets.

After Williams’ departure, the Jazz were led by veterans Paul Millsap and Al Jefferson. In the summer of 2013, Millsap signed with the Atlanta Hawks and Jefferson signed with the Charlotte Hornets.

With Gordon Hayward and Derrick Favors showing potential, the team decided to go young and rebuild for the future. The next season resulted in a 25-57 record, but the Jazz have improved their record each year since. This past season the Jazz finished with a 40-42 record and finished a game behind the Houston Rockets for the eighth and final playoff spot in the west.
