Utah Jazz: Five Potential Free Agent Point Guard Targets
By Ryan Aston
Seth Curry, Sacramento Kings (Player Option)
Another combo guard, Seth Curry has exhibited some of the same shooting touch that kept his father, Dell Curry, in the league for 16 years and helped make his brother, Stephen Curry, the league’s Most Valuable Player. Like Steph, he was one of the better deep threats in the NBA this year, hitting 45 percent of his three-pointers.
For a Jazz team that has been short on outside shooters for some time, this could make Curry an interesting backup option for coach Quin Snyder.
After going undrafted in 2013, the Duke product struggled to catch on in the NBA. He finally established himself with the Sacramento Kings this season and was especially effective with increased playing time late in the year. In his final 10 games, Curry averaged 15.5 points and four assists per game, shooting 49 percent from deep and 90 percent from the line.
For the season, he averaged 6.8 points per game in 44 games with the Kings.
Like Lin, he has the option to return to his team next season. However, according to Sam Amick of USA-Today, Curry will forego the final $1 million on his contract in favor of a better deal this offseason.
