The Jazz Have Money to Spend and Draft Picks to Trade

Another positive takeaway from this season is that the Jazz’s problems are glaring. The biggest being is that the team needs more depth — especially at the wings and backup big man positions.

Even better, these problems are fixable.

And while getting a healthy Dante Exum and Alec Burks back next season will certainly help, I don’t think it will be enough to make the Jazz a legitimate contender.

Simply put, the Jazz have to spend money. And this year’s free agent class has a myriad of talent. Talent that can be added to a Jazz bench that struggled mightily.

Players like Kent Bazemore, Evan Fournier, Courtney Lee, Jared Dudley, Luol Deng and Nicolas Batum have piqued my interest — and have the potential to help the Jazz immensely and immediately.

The Jazz also have a metric ton of draft picks. Too many to even think about adding them all to the current roster. By default, this makes them trade bait.

We’ll see what eventually transpires, but I’d be floored if the Jazz stay put this offseason. I have an inkling it’s going to be extremely busy for the Jazz’s front office.
