Before the Utah Jazz and the Golden State Warriors tipped off at Vivint Arena, fans seeking autographs from Stephen Curry fell through a railing.

Golden State Warriors star and reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry is known for blowing the roof off of arenas around the Association with his shooting prowess. Before Wednesday’s game with the Utah Jazz, his mere presence resulted in a broken railing and several fans taking a tumble.

Just over an hour before tip-off at Vivint Smart Home Arena, several fans emerged on Curry as he finished his pre-game routine. The guard rail that separates fans from the arena floor quickly gave way, causing the small group of autograph seekers to crash through it.

Local reporter Brittany Copeland captured the incident on video as it happened–

When fans are bursting through guard rails for the chance at a fleeting encounter with the Warriors star, it’s probably safe to say that Currymania is officially running wild.

The fans who were involved were evaluated by the medical staff at Vivint Arena before the game and eventually returned to their seats. Thankfully, none were seriously injured in the accident.

Of the four fans that were reportedly involved in the incident, three received autographed memorabilia from Curry for their troubles.

Apparently all one needs to do to get Curry’s signature is push the structural integrity of the arena beyond its limits.

I suppose the ends justify the means.
