The Utah Jazz could be players for Atlanta Hawks point guard Jeff Teague at the trade deadline, but should they be?

Late last month, discussion of a potential deal between the Utah Jazz and the Atlanta Hawks centered around Jeff Teague hit critical mass in the Jazz blogosphere and the hoops media at large. With the Hawks reportedly looking to deal and the Jazz clutching to the No. 8 spot in the Western Conference Playoff race, such a move could be a win-win situation.

Whether or not an actual deal is being discussed is another matter entirely, but many Jazz fans are already urging the team to make the trade.

Nonetheless, swinging a deal for the former All-Star may not be in the best interest of the Jazz franchise despite the social media frenzy surrounding the rumors. If you’ll allow me a moment of devil’s advocacy, here are five reasons why the Jazz shouldn’t pursue a trade for Teague.
