6) The Jazz Really Miss Dante Exum
Speaking of Exum, the No. 5 overall selection of the 2014 NBA Draft has been sorely missed. Although Trey Burke has performed well as a scoring guard off the bench and Neto has shown his ability to pass and defend, neither provide the length or show the promise that Exum exhibited.
Already, Jazz fans and media are openly wondering if the team can achieve their playoff goals with its current crop of point guards. Snyder’s willingness to employ a triple-wing lineup was yielded positive results in spurts, but is it a long-term solution? Probably not. Moreover, the team is an injury away from only having one healthy point guard on the roster.
The 20-year-old Exum is a potential franchise point guard and his performance in summer league had many believing that his offensive game was on the verge of catching up to his elite-level defense this season. It may not happen this year, but the Jazz need Exum on the floor to realize their full potential.
