Rookie of the Year
Tyson Newman: Emmanuel Mudiay, the rookie point man for Denver who earned a lot of praise in the preseason.
Karthik Narayanan: Stanley Johnson. He had an impressive summer league, can do multiple things on the floor and could play himself into the starting lineup by the All-Star Break, if not sooner.
Greg Foster: Emmanuel Mudiay. He’s 100 percent NBA-ready and has been handed the keys to the Denver Nuggets offense. He’s going to play starter-type minutes and because of that, he’ll produce starter-type numbers. Especially if his preseason play transfers over to the regular season.
Jazz fans should be THRILLED to know that another young, incredibly talented point guard has joined the Northwest Division.
Richard Lu: Karl-Anthony Towns. KAT is looking extremely good, and though the T-Wolves have a plethora of bigs, he should get plenty of time to shine.
Ryan Aston: Jahlil Okafor. Some are declaring that the big man is the second coming of Al Jefferson, but that’s not exactly a bad thing. Okafor could put up Big Al-like numbers on the block for the Sixers in his rookie year because, really–who else is going to score for them?
Blake Draper: Karl-Anthony Towns. He’s a talented young big who will get plenty of run in Minnesota alongside the great collection of young talent the Wolves have put together. Having Kevin Garnett as a mentor will be helpful to Towns as well.
