Comeback Player

In lieu of a discussion on who will be the most improved player, we’re going to take a different route given the litany of notable players returning from major injuries and/or subpar seasons. Who will be the league’s greatest comeback player this season?

Tyson Newman: Jabari Parker. This is a tough one to pick, but Parker should play a big role for the Bucks after missing most of last season.

Karthik Narayanan: Paul George. He has his legs under him now and is going to be a superstar once again. Who is going to guard him at the four spot?

Greg Foster: Paul George. I was convinced that Paul George’s career was over when he compound fractured his leg in 2014. Since then, he’s worked his tail off, along with the assistance of modern medicine wizardry, to reclaim his spot as one of the special talents in the NBA.

Now that he’s been cleared and is ready to play an entire season, we’re going to see PG back in an All-Star uniform and at the helm of an intriguing Indiana Pacers team.

Richard Lu: I’ve got the same as Greg–Paul George is looking to be fantastic. George made noise about not wanting to play the four spot, but it looks to be working just fine so far. Julius Randle also looks to be developing nicely, as a side note.

Ryan Aston: Kevin Durant. I’m not ready to crown him MVP of the league, but KD is doing KD things once again and should team with Russell Westbrook to make OKC one of the more formidable teams in the west.

Blake Draper: Kevin Durant. KD missed 2/3 of the 2014-15 season with injuries, which makes him absolutely qualified in this category. Paul George should have a fine year as well, but I see Durant as truly being a man on a mission that will torment 29 teams all season long.
