7) Derrick Favors
Derrick Favors did not have a very good preseason and I think he would agree with me when I say that he’s a much better player than he showed. Favors seemed to struggle with his outside shot, as well as inside when he got his one-on-one opportunities.
Maybe my expectations are high, but Favors’ preseason performance never approached what the team will need from him this season. On the plus side, he still played great defense and lead the team in blocked shots. Also, despite the struggles in his offensive game, the big man still scored 11.4 points and grabbed 7.0 rebounds per game.
I don’t expect these struggles to continue. Favors wants to be an All-Star and will prove that he deserves the recognition in the regular season.
