10) Jeff Withey
For many among the ranks of Jazz Nation, Jeff Withey was a great surprise. Coming into preseason play, most fans were assuming that Tibor Pleiss was going to be the back-up to Rudy Gobert, but now I believe that Withey has played himself into that role.
Withey is a great defender and gives us another seven-foot player that can come off the bench and make it difficult for opponents in the paint. Withey surprisingly averaged the second most blocks per game on the team at 1.2–just behind starting power forward Derrick Favors.
If he can continue to play defense on that level, Withey will keep earning more playing time as the season progresses.
Preseason Stats: 7 GP, 11.4 min, 2.4 pts, 3.0 rbs, 1.2 blk, 81.8 FG%
