Speed: Rickey Green
As beloved Utah Jazz announcer Hot Rod Hundley used to say, “The fastest of them all, Rickey Green!” Throughout his 14-year NBA career, Green was most known for his speed and was regarded by many as the league’s fastest point guard—both with and without the ball
He was known for using that speed both in the set offense and on the fast break, blowing by defenders with ease en route to layups and wide open shots.
Whoever was tasked with guarding Rickey in a particular game knew he’d have to tie his sneakers extra tight. A whole lot of sprinting was about to go down.
