Point Guard: John Stockton
I’m sure I don’t need to sell anybody on this one, but I’ll do it anyway. John Stockton is the NBA’s career leader in assists and steals, an All-Star many times over, a multiple-time Olympic gold medalist and arguably the greatest pure point guard in the history of the league.
In addition to the usual list of achievements, Stockton also connected on nearly 52 percent of his career field goal attempts as a backcourt player, which is a feat of Herculean proportions. He also teamed with Karl Malone to lead the Jazz back-to-back NBA Finals in ’97 and ’98.
