3. Marreese Speights, Golden State Warriors
To me, Marreese Speights could be the “bang for your buck” value pick-up of the 2015 free agent class. In less than 17 minutes per contest with the Warriors this season, Speights has provided spark off the bench to the tune of 11 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
The six-foot-ten, 255-pound Speights could be to the modern Jazz what Antoine Carr was to the Finals teams of the late nineties. He could play at the four or the five as the situation demands and even fill in as a starter should injury create the need. In the nine games he started for Golden State this season, Speights upped his output to over 15 points and nearly six boards per game.
His recent legal troubles aside, the former Florida Gator is a fine player who could help ignite the stagnant offense of Utah’s second unit.
