With the season concluding and the Utah Jazz not in contention for a top draft pick or a playoff run, perhaps the biggest thing on the team’s radar this summer will be free agency. While it’s unlikely that Utah will be able to lure a LaMarcus Aldridge or a Marc Gasol into the fold, there remains an intriguing field of potential targets.
In this first, way-too-early look at free agents available this offseason, we’ll dig into the five spot with the top five centers that the Jazz and GM Dennis Lindsey could pursue. The team is set on the starting line with Rudy Gobert and Derrick Favors, but a quality third big should be a point of emphasis for the club.
Obviously, if Jazz brass decides to finally bring Ante Tomic over, he would probably be the one to assume the role. However, until Tomic’s buy-out is completed and the seven-foot-two Croatian is stateside, we have to look at other solutions.
