Utah Jazz Resume Play Tonight—After an All-Star break that saw Rudy Gobert dominate the BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge and a trade deadline that signaled the end of Enes Kanter‘s Jazz career, the team will be back in action tonight against the Portland Trail Blazers.
The two teams last faced each other on February 3rd in Portland, a game in which the Blazers narrowly edged out Utah for a 103-102 victory thanks to 20-plus point performances from Damian Lillard, LaMarcus Aldridge and Wesley Matthews.
Grant Jerrett, acquired from the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Kanter trade, is not expected to play in the game. Rodney Hood, however, could be ready to go.
Fans in attendance at EnergySolutions Arena will undoubtedly be excited to see Gobert in his first official game as the team’s starting center. One can’t help but feel like it’s the beginning of something special. It will be interesting to see how he handles the pressure against Portland’s front line.
