5. Utah Jazz – Aaron Gordon

The last mock draft that Chad Ford had on Tuesday, showed Gordon going to the Jazz here. If you have read my articles, I am all for this, and while this mock draft is considering all the rumors and information floating out there, this is also a hopeful pick at the same time.

Gordon needs to work on his jump shot. There is no question there. However, everything else that he can do on the court to effect the game is something that can’t be overlooked. Considering the jump shot issues that most people seem to have, in an interview with 1280 The Zone earlier on Wednesday morning, Walt Perrin, Vice President of Player Personnel for the Utah Jazz, said that he wasn’t too worried about Gordon’s shot.

The potential that Gordon has in the pick and roll game is what makes him the most attractive in Utah with Jazz point guard Trey Burke. He also has a lot of confidence in his game. When he was in Salt Lake City for his pre-draft workout with the Jazz, he was asked how good he can be at full potential. He smiled and said, “Oh man. That could be very, very exciting.”
