Coaching Profile: Ettore Messina (via Purpleandblues.com)
Ever since the Utah Jazz decided not to renew the head coaching contract of Tyrone Corbin on Monday, there has been a lot of speculation about who will replace him on the sidelines next season. One of the most intriguing names that has come up is Ettore Messina, who is a coaching legend in Europe.

Rookie Round Table: Utah Jazz rookies recap their first season (via Purpleandblues.com)
The 2013-14′ NBA regular season has been in the books now for a little over a week. Last Thursday, the Utah Jazz did their annual locker ream clean out, where they emptied out the lockers and got a chance to talk to the local Jazz media one more time before heading into the off season.
For guys like Trey Burke, Rudy Gobert, and Ian Clark, they weren’t just finishing up another season, they were finishing up their rookie season in the NBA. With a lot of ups and downs for the team this year, how would the rookies react to their first season? (Continue reading here)
2014 NBA Draft: Need vs Best Available (via Purpleandblues.com)
The same question comes up every year, should a team draft on need or should they take the best player available? This is part 1 of 2. The next article will actually go inside the numbers of teams that have picked on need compared to best available.

Here’s my take: Top 5 pick best available and after top 5 pick based on need. (Continue reading here)
Five areas Utah Jazz must upgrade or improve this off season (via BleacherReport.com)
If there’s a self-help book specifically written for NBAorganizations, the Utah Jazz might have just gone through the first chapter: starting a rebuild.
The moves made last offseason to provide financial flexibility for the future led to a 25-57 record in 2013-14—the third-worst in franchise history and the worst since 1981-82.
Now on to the second chapter: upgrading.
This summer, the Jazz can use some of the salary-cap space they freed up to re-sign Gordon Hayward and extend young assets Enes Kanter and Alec Burks.
They also have two first-round draft picks, including one in the lottery that has a 10.4 percent chance of becoming the No. 1 overall selection.
With that said, perhaps the most immediate upgrade will come by way of a coaching change, as Tyrone Corbin will not return to the position for next season. (Continue reading here)
Is former U of U coach, Jim Boylen, the right fit to lead the Jazz? (via TheExaminer.com)
If you believe the rumors, Jim Boylen is coming back to Utah.
The failed former University of Utah basketball coach is on a short list – at or near the top, apparently – of candidates to replace Tyrone Corbin as head coach of the Utah Jazz.
Seriously?
Seriously.
Well, at least if you believe in rumors.
At this point it’s all conjecture, just a bunch of breathless media speculation and talk radio fodder that began earlier this week, seconds after the Jazz announced they were splitting up with Corbin. (Continue reading here)
