If you look at the picture above, you can see Brandon Rush kind of smiling in it. Does anyone know how hard it was to find a picture of Brandon Rush smiling while he spent his time in Utah? Very difficult…

Rush has been one of the most disappointing players this season for me, if not THE most disappoint player. Rush had to come back from an ACL injury before he got to the Golden State Warriors. After dealing with it, he ended up having one of his best seasons, averaging nearly 10 points per game off the bench in 65 games. Rush also shot over 45% from three point range that season. Then following that great season, Rush came in the next and tore his ACL to start the season.

After it sounded like Rush was going to recover and get closer to 100%, I was extremely excited to have him on the team. If he could get back to the way he was before, he could have been a huge spark off the bench. In fact, if he could have gotten back to the way he was before, he could have played his way into a great contract whether with the Jazz or with any other team.

Rush checked out while in Utah, and never acted like he was interested in being here. In fact, at the first of the week, Rush sent out a tweet that said he had his boxes already packed up and shipped out. The tweet was quickly deleted, probably because the Jazz PR rep seen it and had it taken down. Rush didn’t want to be here, and it was extremely disappointing to me. He could have been a great piece to the core young guys in the future off the bench. Now we won’t get that chance.
