Newman’s 2014 NBA Draft Lottery Big Board 1.0
By Tyson Newman
Number 14
Willie Cauley-Stein – Sophomore
Willie Cauley-Stein started off slow this season with Kentucky and wasn’t a very big threat on the offensive end. As of late he’s played very well averaging 13.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in his last 4. He also has averaged over 5 blocks per game in that same time frame and is showing that he’s a very capable defender. Due to his slow start offensively scouts wondered if he would be able to contribute at all on the offensive end in the NBA but as of late he’s show that he can be a threat. Defensively he’s been great down low for Kentucky, blocking shots and making teams think twice before driving the lane to the hoop. Cauley-Stein would be a great addition to any team looking for a defensive anchor in the middle and should go somewhere in the middle of the first round and possibly a lottery pick.
