Enes Kanter
I seen a stat on Twitter that really surprised me. At the time of the tweet, with Kanter on the bench, the Jazz were +4.2. With Kanter on the court, the Jazz were -18.1. I was looking forward to seeing Kanter take over Big Al’s position and prove that he could be the go to guy. So far, that hasn’t quite worked out.
Kanter learned from Big Al. His pump fakes and foot work are great! However, he gets the ball down low and holds it instead of making a quick move, or passing it back out. He waits for the double team to come to him a lot and it gets him in trouble from time to time.
Kanter and Favors didn’t quite figure out how to play together on the court. Since Favors has been moved to center, his production has gone up. Kanter’s production has gone down a bit, which is expected when you don’t see as many minutes off the bench as you did as a starter.
Kanter is getting 26.2 minutes off the bench and shooting 46.5% from the field. He’s also providing 10.9 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. Kanter is young and it is to be expected from a young guy. He never really had much coaching until he got to Utah. Remember, he didn’t get to play college basketball. Kanter will improve, but so far this year, he is struggling a bit.
