5 : Phoenix Suns select Victor Oladipo, SG, Indiana
I’m really kind of surprised that Oladipo slides this far down the board. He could very well be the best player overall in this draft. Also, he probably has the most potential.
Phoenix needs help all over. They’re basically starting from square 1 and what better piece to start to build a franchise around than Oladipo? The guy has been compared to Dwayne Wade. His game is very similar. His work ethic, athleticism, and defense should make an impact early in his career.
(as a side note, Chad Ford said in a podcast with David Locke that the Jazz could trade the number 14 and 21 pick along with Alec Burks to get as high as pick number 5. If Oladipo happens to slide to 5th in this draft, I think the Jazz should try and make that trade.)
